PARKING AUTHORITY

Meeting Schedule:

The Parking Authority meets quarterly at 8 a.m. on the third Wednesdays of January, April, July, and October in the third floor conference room of the Municipal Building, 400 South Main Street, Culpeper, Virginia.

Purpose of the Authority:

The Culpeper Parking Authority was created in 1976 by act of the General Assembly.  It consists of five (5) members who serve four-year terms and is specifically responsible for planning and fostering the development of off-street parking facilities in Downtown. The Parking Authority oversees the administration of all off-street and leased public parking spaces to include short term and long term parking lots. Currently, the Parking Authority controls approximately 405 on-street parking spaces and 522 off-street parking spaces.

Inventory of Parking Spaces Summary:

The Parking Authority budget is supported by revenues from parking fines, leased parking and general fund monies. The Town Department of Public Works provides maintenance services. One full-time Traffic Control Officer is employed under the Town Police Department to provide enforcement of parking regulations.
